George's Open House: Local High Schools Get Top Grades in Newsweek List

Local High Schools Get Top Grades in Newsweek List

Several local high schools received high rankings in Newsweek Magazine's annual listing on America's Best High Schools.  The list, which according to the article "picks the best high schools in the country based on how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced-placement college-level courses and tests," chooses 1,600 schools, or about 6% of the nations total, as the best.

Ridge High School, which serves students from Bernards Township, was ranked 194th in the country, the highest rated comprehensive high school in New Jersey.  Other local schools that appear on the list are Bernards High School (serving Bernardsville, Bedminster, Peapack-Gladstone, and Far Hills) at 359, Bridgewater-Raritan High School at 1168, and Somerville High School (serving Branchburg and Somerville) at 1363.
